Kiki’s Delivery Service (魔女の宅急便)

kiki

The story follows a young witch named Kiki, on her mandatory year of independent life, who finds fitting into a new community difficult while she supports herself by running an air courier service.

Eiko Kadono, the children’s literary writer residing in Kamakura, has published numerous works full of magination, including her masterpiece “Kiki’s Delivery Service”. She recently received the Kamakura City Citizen’s Honor Award followed by the Hans Christian Andersen Award, also known as the Nobel Prize for Children’s Literature in 2018. To celebrate these prestigious honors, Kamakura City Kawakita Film Museum cordially presents a screening event of the animated classic “Kiki’s Delivery Service” produced by Studio Ghibli. This film continues to be loved across generations, but there are not many opportunities to see it screened at movie theaters. Please take this rare opportunity to enjoy the story of Kiki and Gigi on the big screen.
